Keep each client's details walled off in their own project
Ask about a client's progress and it remembers last month, but your other clients never come up.
A sketch of what you'll get back.
Your prompt
Fill in your details. Skip any you like.
ChatGPT opens with your prompt already typed in. It's copied too, just in case.
The prompt that gets copied
This project is only about one client, [CLIENT CODE NAME, e.g. Client A]. Use only the notes and chats inside this project. Before each session, give me a short brief: where they started, what they've worked on, what they committed to last time, any wins worth celebrating, and the one topic I should raise today. Point out anything they keep repeating or avoiding. If my notes are thin on something, tell me what to ask so the record is better next time. Keep it under 200 words and don't invent details.
Give each client their own ChatGPT project and set it to Project-only memory. ChatGPT remembers that client's history inside the project, and none of it leaks into your other chats.
Step by step
- Select New project in the sidebar and name it with a client code name.
- Open the more options menu, choose Project settings and select Project-only memory under Memory.
- Add your session notes after each call.
- Paste the prompt below at the start of a new chat before each session.
What you'll get
A per-client brief before every session, drawn only from that client's project and kept out of your other chats.
All plans. Use a code name, not the client's full name. ChatGPT Work isn't available in projects set to project-only memory.
