Move what ChatGPT knows about you into Claude in minutes
Your first Claude chat already knows your business, your clients and how you like answers written.
A sketch of what you'll get back.
Your prompt
Claude and ChatGPT open with your prompt already typed in. It's copied too, just in case.
The prompt that gets copied
List everything you've stored or learned about me from our past conversations, including my work, business, clients, projects, goals, writing preferences, the tools I use and how I like answers formatted. Write each item as one short, factual line in plain English, grouped under clear headings, inside a single code block so I can copy it. Include details you've inferred, and mark those as inferred. Leave out passwords, account numbers, health details and anything about other people that isn't needed to help me with my work. Don't add commentary before or after the code block.
Run an export prompt in ChatGPT, then paste the result into Claude's memory import. Claude starts out knowing your work, projects and preferences instead of starting from zero.
Step by step
- Paste the prompt below into a new ChatGPT chat and copy the code block it returns.
- Read it and delete anything private or out of date before you move it.
- In Claude, go to Settings, then Memory, select Start import and paste the text.
- Click Add to memory, then See what Claude learned about you to check the result.
What you'll get
Your ChatGPT memories reviewed and imported into Claude as memory entries you can see and edit.
Memory import works on Free, Pro, Max and Team, on the web and in the Claude app. Claude keeps mostly work-related details.
