Turn a 'let's get dinner' text into options and a ready reply
It reads the actual back-and-forth, so it knows which nights everyone already ruled out.
A sketch of what you'll get back.
Your prompt
Fill in your details. Skip any you like.
ChatGPT opens with your prompt already typed in. It's copied too, just in case.
The prompt that gets copied
Read my recent Messages thread with [PERSON OR GROUP, e.g. my sister] and work out what they're asking me to do, like picking a dinner spot or a time to meet. Then help me finish it. Check my calendar for open times in [TIME WINDOW, e.g. the next two weeks]. If it's about a place, find 3 good options near [MEETING AREA, e.g. halfway between our homes] that fit [OUR PREFERENCES, e.g. vegetarian-friendly, under $40 each], with times that are actually available. Draft a short, friendly reply in the same thread with the best 2 or 3 choices. Don't send the reply, book a table, place an order or add anything to my calendar. Stop and check with me before any of those steps.
On a Mac, ChatGPT can read a Messages thread, work out what's being asked, check your calendar, find options and draft your reply in the same thread. It stops before booking anything.
Step by step
- Install the Computer Use plugin in the ChatGPT desktop app on your Mac.
- Sign in to your calendar and a reservation site in your browser first.
- Paste the prompt and name the person or group chat.
- Review the options and the draft reply, then send it and book yourself.
What you'll get
A clear read on what the thread is asking, three options that fit your calendar and taste, and a reply drafted in the thread for you to send.
Mac only, in the ChatGPT desktop app with the Computer Use plugin. Opening a thread this way marks it as read.
