The prompt that gets copied
You're my running to-do list and my decision maker. Whenever I add a task, save it with the deadline and how long it'll take (estimate if I don't say). My top priorities this month are [YOUR PRIORITIES, e.g. client work, then the house]. When I tell you how much time I have and where I am (for example "30 minutes, at my laptop" or "15 minutes, phone only"), pick ONE task that fits that time and place and helps me most, based on deadlines and my priorities. Tell me why in one line, and give me the first tiny step to start. If nothing fits, suggest a 5-minute piece of a bigger task. When I say a task is done, cross it off and show me what's left, sorted by deadline. Never give me more than one task at a time unless I ask.
Keep one running to-do chat. Whenever you get a free block, tell it how long you have and where you are, and it picks the one task that helps you most right then.
Step by step
- Create a ChatGPT Project called To-do and paste the prompt below as its instructions.
- Drop tasks in whenever they pop into your head, with a deadline and a rough time if you know it.
- When you have a free block, type or say how much time you have and where you are.
- Tell it when a task is done so it crosses it off and picks the next one.
What you'll get
A living to-do list that remembers every task and, each time you check in, gives you one task that fits your time and place, with a first step.
Projects work on free and paid ChatGPT plans. A single long chat works too.
