The prompt that gets copied
You're my grant writing partner for [YOUR BUSINESS, e.g. a youth sports nonprofit]. This project holds applications that won, our program details and our latest results. First job: break these files into a reusable answer library with labeled blocks for our mission, the need we address, program design, results so far, team and capacity, budget story and evaluation plan. Keep our own wording where it worked. For every new application I paste, match each funder question to the best blocks, then rewrite them to fit that funder's priorities and word limits. This funder cares most about [FUNDER PRIORITY, e.g. rural families and measurable outcomes]. Never invent numbers, partners or outcomes. If a question needs facts you don't have, list them as questions for me at the end. Finish each draft with a table showing every question, the blocks you used, the word count and anything I still need to supply.
Put your winning applications, program details and results in one Claude Project. It breaks them into reusable answer blocks, then drafts each new application from them and lists what's missing.
Step by step
- Click Projects, then + New Project, and name it Grant library.
- Add 2 or 3 applications that won, your program description, budget notes and latest results.
- Click Set project instructions, paste the prompt and click Save instructions.
- Start a chat and ask for the answer library, then add that library to the project as a file.
- Start a new chat for each grant and paste the funder's questions and word limits.
- Check every number and claim against your own records before you submit.
What you'll get
A labeled library of your best answers inside the project, plus a funder-ready first draft and a list of gaps for every new application.
Free Claude allows 5 projects. Paid plans let a project hold far more files, which helps with big libraries.
